Apprenticeships

At Anthem, our commitment to lifelong learning is supported by our Apprenticeship Strategy.

We have teamed up with a national training provider to deliver apprenticeships to new and existing staff, ranging from child-centred courses such as Level 2 Teaching Assistant and Early Years Educator, to administrative courses such as School Business Manager and Assistant Accountant. The range and level of apprenticeships available to our workforce is targeted to be relevant to our schools, address skills gaps and develop individuals.

During the Academic year 2018-19, we have doubled the number of Anthem apprentices, enrolling staff on courses covering eight different occupational areas, ranging from Level 3 to Master’s degree at Level 7.

We are particularly proud of our involvement in a project to design and develop a specialist scheme of work for Teaching Assistants focusing on supporting children with SEN and autism. This has evolved into a two-year training scheme delivered through the TA apprenticeship standard, in which we have now enrolled 18 members of staff from Anthem schools from our London & Thames Valley region. If successful, we intend to expand the opportunity to staff in other regions and disciplines.
