The purpose of the Professional Learning Networks is to create a collaborative network in the region where best practice can be shared and developed. The PLN leader is a facilitator of this network. Unlike the Lead Learners, PLN Leaders are not seconded but take on their duties in addition to their current position for which they receive an additional responsibility allowance from the Trust.
This year we have seven Primary PLNs covering the following areas in both the East Midlands and London and Thames Valley regions:
- Pupil Premium
- Special Needs and Disabilities
- Safeguarding and Attendance
- Development of the Curriculum
- Early Years Foundation Stage
Primary PLN Leaders are line-managed by Education Directors and are appointed for a term of one year.
At Secondary, we have 17 PLNs covering the following areas:
- Physical Education
- EAL Teach Meet
Secondary PLN Leaders are line-managed by our Curriculum Team Leader and, like their Primary counterparts, are appointed for a term of one year.
